Bragging Rights  –  Round Three in Port Macquarie

Saturday November  14th 2020

Regional Graded Scratch Racing at it’s Best

With the final round of SE Northern Division on in Port Macquarie this afternoon it was quite clear that the stakes where high. With over thirty entries, spread mostly across B and C divisions it was clear that sheep stations where on the line and thankfully our traffic control team had them under control early.

With the absence of a few notorious A grade hitters, Kev must have thought he would have it all his own way. After a solid eight laps however in what onlookers described as the slowest sprint of the day he come up short to Joel Barker.

Following the B race, Officials reported that Monty Moore had been reprimanded. After having thrown everything but the kitchen sink at the competition it appears that this rider on the rise had come up short again. Having been beaten out by not only one of the more experienced sprinters in Alastiar Lane but also very fast finisher Laurelea Moss who took the overall honours.

A fierce contested C grade race had a number of riders on the ropes early, Vanessa McDonald was a heavily marked rider making many break-away moves and rightly so as she was the first woman home in a spectacular finish that saw Lachlan McDonald (different family) take the spoils. Having had a heavy focus on his track work this season clearly paying dividends.

The Jakeman women secured two blocks of chocolate for the girls weekend at home, whilst the Cockshott family will have to see if young James is willing to share.

Men and women competed together in all grades but were recognised separately.

This rounds brings an end to the PMCC Road Season.

Despite obvious obstacles that we are all tired of hearing about, Racing has continued with much fun and hard work had by all involved.

After a successful S.E.N.D. campaign, This series is already in discussion to take place next season.

If your inspiration is running high get out to a Tuesday night Critt or Come a long to our Annual Mt Seaview ride scheduled for late December, details to be announced.✍
