PMCC view on COVID-19

Further information after today’s (March 17th 2020) announcement by Cycling NSW re the COVID-19 virus.

Cycling NSW have withdrawn all race sanctions through out NSW, therefore there will be no Club, Interclub or State racing effective immediately till 30 April 2020.
This means our local road races.
Our Winter Program is ready to go– with TCP AND POLICE approvals . The Club has no choice but to follow the directive from Cycling NSW. To conduct any racing contrary to the directive would invalidate our/your insurance cover.
Cycling NSW will review its current position on a rolling basis with the possibility of extending it depending on the circumstances.
Please note the club does not organise bunch rides – these are organised by individuals and riders participate by choice. However in light of the NSW Health recommendations it is suggested for these bunch rides:
Riders practice ‘social distancing’
Consider applying the ‘metre matters’ rule not just while driving but also on bunch rides
Keep a gap of 1.5m between riders including stopping at intersections
Limit the size of groups to 10 or fewer riders
Ensure all riders are self-sufficient in case of mechanical issues
If you need to sneeze or cough remove yourself from the group
Do not ride if your feel unwell
At cafes leave helmets, gloves and sunglasses away from tables

Stay healthy everyone
