2015 Lauren Kitchen wins Oceania Road Race

Lauren Kitchen, our home grown champion, has possibly taken the biggest title of her career so far
by winning the Oceania Road Race Title in Toowoomba this month. After her hard fought and well
deserved win she said:

“I’m really happy with this win, I’ve been close a few times to the top step so far this year
but for it all to fall into place today for a big title like this, I’m really stoked!”

Lauren also thanked her sponsors, Rydges of Port Macquarie and eicht’s Tyres. This win comes
after an impressive performance in the Women’s Tour of Qatar and automatically qualifies her to
wear the “green and gold” at the World Championships to be held in the USA in September. It is all
the more impressive when you consider that she finished second in the Oceania Time Trial
Championships two days before.

Lauren rides for Team Hitec Products and will be based in Europe for the European summer. She
was identified for the North Coast Academy of Sports in 2005 and was coached by our own Kev
Fletcher and Graham Seers through the junior ranks culminating in her winning the Australian Under
19 Road Race in 2008.

Since then Lauren has competed extensively in Europe with a scholarship from the AIS. In 2011 won
the Australian Criterium Champion’s jersey.

Well done Lauren from all of us at PMCC and good luck with the rest of the racing season.
